Current directory holds coastline bitmap files to apply as a mask to images composed from the satellite. Format is compressed GIF with 8 bit. Please take care of the following issues when dealing with these files: MTP size is designed to match EUMETCast resolution (2532x2500) instead of the normal 2500x2500 MSG HRV is projected as a full size disc, normally bigger than the disseminated window File naming convention consists of _d_[_][_latlong][_countries].gif , where: satellite: met5, met8, etc degrees: positive goes east, negative west region: either full or any of the specific projections channel: our satellites up to now have one channel in special resolution and all the other in the standard resolution. If there is no specific channel resolution coastline projection defined, the standard one should be chosen. Some old web browsers are unable to display Met8 HRV coastlines because it's too big. The file locations.txt contains the location for each of the satellites disseminated via EUMETCast Coastlines are also compressed for easier download. You can access to the full coastline set or a specific satellite generation. txt files are added on all zip files. These Coastlines were produced at Eumetsat.
